Tony Mendes

Height: 5-10
Weight: 160
Back Number: 9
Hometown: Jensen, UT
Born: August 10, 1977
Tony started riding at the tender age of three. He wanted to be like his dad and grandpa, who both rode bulls, and his older brother Scott, who is also a Professional Bull Rider. Tony started riding sheep and eventually climbed on his first bull at the age of 14. Mendes qualified for his first PBR World Finals in 1999 and recorded a 93.5 score on the 1,900-pound Clayton’s Pet of Salt River Rodeo Company during that competition. Mendes counts this ride as one of the most memorable of his PBR career. Mendes is often referred to as the “Wild Man” because of the energy he displays inside and out of the arena. It’s common to find him dancing around the arena and cheering on fellow bull riders. This is his ninth year riding in the PBR. Tony is a proud parent of son Klay and daughter Della, and is engaged to Jolene Hamilton.
